Our Company
CHIP SENG IMPEX (S) PTE LTD started as a modest rice wholesaler in 1970, buying rice from local importers, under the name of Chip Seng Hup Kee.
In 1986, the Singapore government opened up the rice import trade and we began importing rice directly from Thailand. We introduced our first house brand, “Jin Huang Fragrant Rice”, into the market. As we supply quality rice and render excellent services, our business has grown steadily.
In the early 90s, as the standard of living in Singapore has risen, we launched the best quality rice from the North Eastern part of Thailand, “Golden Eagle Thai Fragrant Rice”. With our well-established background, Australia’s Ricegrowers Co-operative Ltd invited us to be the exclusive importer and agent to market their “Australian Kangaroo Premium Calrose Rice” in the year 2000.
Over the years, we have expanded our product line to include: Brown rice, Germinated rice , Sushi rice and Koshihikari rice to cater to different needs. Our rice is sold to supermarkets, wholesalers, restaurants, caterers, ship chandlers, minimarts etc. and re-exports to regional countries. Currently, we are one of the key rice importers and distributors in Singapore.
